Marjorie Maxcine (Hinton) McBath was born February 25, 1922, to Hannibal and Blanche (Carter) Hinton in Fort Scott, Kansas. She was raised in Fort Scott and graduated from high school in 1940. Marjorie married Edwin "Chief" McBath on April 11, 1944, in Rich Hill, Missouri. The couple moved to the rural Missouri Valley, Iowa area to farm and raise their family of five children. Marjorie was a very devoted farm wife, raising children, helping Dad with the chores, cooking for hired hands and family and all of the other duties of a loving mother and farm wife. When the children grew older she became a devoted CNA for 17 years at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. She also worked at Jennie Edmundson and Mercy Hospitals in Council Bluffs. She continued with private home care for the terminally ill in the Logan and Missouri Valley areas. Edwin died in 1993, and Marjorie moved to Woodbine in 1994.

Marjorie was a member of the First Christian Church in Woodbine. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing pitch. Marjorie loved to entertain her children and their friends by baking, having sledding parties and bonfires.

Marjorie died on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 10 months and six days.
