Chad Eugene Stevens was born on April 21, 1973, to Gary and Sue (Ross) Stevens in Missouri Valley, Iowa. He was raised in Mondamin and graduated from West Harrison High School with the class of 1993. After his graduation, Chad did carpentry, mechanic, and electrical work. He also worked with his father in the concrete business and most recently worked at CTI Electronics.

Chad loved to fish, hunt and to simply be in the outdoors. He was always willing to help out whoever needed help. Chad loved to garden and he loved his dog, Bella. Chad's nickname was Rooster.

Chad died on Thursday, November 23, 2017, as the result of a fire at the age of 44 years, seven months, and two days.

Chad was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Stevens and grandmother, Nona Ross. He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Marie Lager of Missouri Valley, Iowa and one other adult daughter; father, Gary Stevens of Mondamin, Iowa; mother, Sue Ross of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Staci Stevens of Moorhead, Iowa; half-sister, Melissa Stevens of Bennington, Nebraska; grandmother, Lois Stevens of Mondamin, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
