Ilene Mae (Truitt) Schiltz Davidson was born August 26, 1924, in Farmington, Missouri to Cecil and Pearl (McNabb) Truitt. The family moved to Iowa in the 1930's and settled around the Dow City and Dunlap areas. In November of 1941, Ilene married Arthur Schiltz. The couple farmed and was blessed with four children: Norma, Kenneth, Alvin and Barbara. Arthur died in 1972. Ilene married Jack Davidson in 1978 and the couple lived in Clarendon, Texas for 20 years. After Jack died, Ilene moved back to Iowa and has lived in Woodbine for the past 16 years. She has been a resident of Rose Vista since January 16th of this year.

Ilene enjoyed making crafts, going to garage sales, working outside and visiting with her friends.

Ilene died on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 92 years, seven months and 16 days.

Ilene was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; daughter-in-law, Judith Schiltz; grandson, Larry K. Schiltz; great grandson, Joseph Smith; and three brothers, Earl, Walt and Orville Truitt. She is survived by her four children, Norma and her husband Jim Rock of Woodbine, Iowa, Kenneth Schiltz of Woodbine, Iowa, Alvin Schiltz and his wife Francene of Modale, Iowa and Barbara and her husband Ken Evans of Conception Junction, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Per Ilene's request, her body was donated to the
University of Nebraska Medical Center for
medical education and scientific research.
