I am sorry for your loss, but he will truly never be forgotten.

I remember Phil trying to tell Lois and I apart. His solution was put Lois in front and Linda in the back on opposite sides of the room. At our graduation, he told mom that he knew we switched on him,but he could tell us apart by our Senior year. Linda was the leader Lois supported the decisions. We thought we got away with it!

I love American

The following was read at the funeral:

A Thank You from Phil:

How can you thank your wife for almost 57 years of support and loyalty and
for the work doing the driving to Omaha 60 miles down, 60 miles back, not
letting anyone share the load?

How do you tell your children thanks for being the people they are after their father spent more time with other people’s children?

How do I show Bob Sauvain my feelings about my old hunting and fishing
buddy, who took

He was a great teacher, and had a sense of humor that made the subject matter more interesting. He was also a patient track coach, encouraging the less gifted runners to give their best. The older I got, the more I appreciated him. He will be missed by his many students and friends.

Mr. Hummel continued to instill in me a love for American History started by Mr. Poe in Jr. High. I wasn't his best student, but he treated me with respect. That in turn helped to build my self-esteem and confidence in myself. Not all teachers had that affect on me. In return, Mr. Hummel had my lifelong respect. Years later when I worked at Eby Drug, Mr. Hummel would come in for a lime phosphate, I think he was the

JoAnn and Family-
Mr. Hummel was a positive role model and an inspiration to us all. I was on his Cross Country team back in the middle 80's and to this day I still have dreams of running like I did back then. I just need to believe in myself as he believed in all of us and do it.

May God's love and peace be with you during this difficult time,

Our sympathy to your family. We had the highest regard for Phil.

One memory we have: Phil asked us to host the end of the season track party several years when our son Adam was in high school and on the track team. Phil would bring most of the food and always have some games planned. And for the winners of the games, he would give prizes. It might be a t-shirt or a neck tie purchased from a trip

Dear Mrs. Hummel and family,

It seems like only a little while ago that I sat in Mr. Hummel's class and was sure I would not make it through the class or pass. I had heard he was a very hard teacher and would fail you if you did not perform. WOW! I was so relieved when I discovered all Mr Hummel wanted was for us to work hard, turn in your work and do your best, I knew I coudl
