So sorry to read of Mary's passing. I have been trying to locate Mary for many years. I was at Wayne State College when Mary attended and also took Home Economic classes. At that time I was Alison Mihulka and Mary was a dear friend. Loved her personality and sense of humor. I have thought of Mary often since college graduation. I know that she touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
Please accept my Deepest Sympathy.

Thinking of you, cousins, during this time of remembering Mary esp the long ago days out at the Deupree farm. The Fouts slide show brought back fond memories of fun, food & family!! Hugs to all. Lori Fox aka Lorraine Deupree

I knew Mary from her involvement with FCCLA. I was never an actual student of hers, but I met her when I was a student at Gilbert High School. I served as the State President in 2005-06 for Iowa FCCLA, I believe she was on the board of directors at the time and we always enjoyed catching up at any FCCLA event we would be attending together. I had a lot of respect for her and she respected all students

Too soon gone, I remember that beautiful smile and unflappable spirit, from grade school til we all managed to graduate. Such sweet memories I have of Mary! My deepest condolences to her family.

My favourite teacher in my entire educational career. A bright spirit. Brilliant woman. She will be missed.
Thank you for believing in me and pushing me to become a better student.

I will always remember the slumber parties we had at your house, all the music contests we sang at and when you moved to town, the walk from school to your house. Even though our paths drifted in different directions, I will miss you. Deepest sympathies to your family.

Your sister was a kind and loving soul like your mom. When my daughter taught at Malvern, Mary took her under her wing, just because she was who she was.

Mary and I taught together at East Monona in Moorhead and also at Red Oak. She was an excellent teacher who really cared about her students. During her years at East Monona, Mary helped with our annual variety shows- always willing to take the stage in both musical and comedy skits. While we hadn't seen each other since the late 90s, I thought of her whenever I talked with former EM students. Mary was one of the most dedicated educators I've ever worked with. I feel fortunate to have known her.

Denny and I are sad to hear of Mary Helen's death. Such a talented person in many ways. She excelled in many areas, but my memory leads me back to the times we spent singing together in HS. She had a lovely voice and spirit. God Bless you, Mary. Our condolences to her family.
