I remember being surprised at how strong Jake was when he gave me a hug. And we are blessed that Jake had his son Joe who is a great lifetime friend. Without Jake, there would be no Joe.

I first met Jake in Washington, D.C. I was walking down the street near the White House when I saw a man getting off a bus wearing an Iowa Hawkeye cap. I said "Ahhh a fellow Iowan" Jake asked me where I was from. I replied Dunlap. He gestured and said 'Come here boy I want to talk to you" . That was the first time I met Jake. He only lived a block away. Go figure?

I will miss Jake.
